Thinking Out Loud - Ed Sheeran
It's already the night of Ramadhan 14th and truth be told, I've learned a lot. As some of may have known, I applied for the Student Representative Council (SRC) of my college in the hopes of winning and becoming a leader to all. Alhamdulillah, I am pleased to say that I didn't win. And yes, I am pleased. Being a leader to a such large community of students requires a lot of sacrifice. There's the risk of misguiding them which might lead you a step further from Jannah, who knows? The responsibility placed on your shoulders are huge, masya Allah. Trust me, I don't even know why I decided to apply.
Anyway, yes I was devastated. And yes, I did mope around for a few days but in the end, I realized that there must be a reason why I was not given the chance to be an SRC member. Maybe if I was one, I might fall out of my studies, or perhaps even misguiding the students. We never know. This Ramadhan taught me how to look at things at a different perspective. It also taught me on how to be more patient with whatever comes in your way.
Alhamdulillah, praise to be Allah that I was given the chance to rethink and indeed be positive after all that has happened. Remember that everything happens for a reason.
p.s To all SRCs, congratulations! I hope that all of you would be able to lead us all towards a better future, In Sha Allah.
